VICE PRESIDENT VANCE COMPARES TRUMP TO HITLER (2016): During Trump’s first campaign for president in the 2016 Election, now-vice president JD Vance compared Trump to Hitler in a private Facebook message: "I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn't be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he's America's Hitler." Vance, at the time a 32-year old author of the best selling memoir Hillbilly Elegy, also publicly described Trump as an “idiot” and “reprehensible.”
